What an iOS developer should know and be able to do

The main thing is, of course, the development and creation of applications for the iOS platform, as well as ensuring application performance, quality and efficiency. They must have excellent communication skills to collaborate with the team, define and design new features, be able to identify and fix bottlenecks and fix bugs in time, as well as help with code maintenance, organization and automation.

Such a specialist is expected to have the knowledge of Objective-C or Swift (depending on the project requirements), as well as experience with iOS frameworks, such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc. An iOS developer must also know the Apple Development Guidelines, as well as have skills working with the Apple Store.

They also need to have experience with offline storage, streaming, and performance tuning, be familiar with RESTful API to connect iOS apps to back-end services, and possess knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards to fully understand the users’ needs. Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred. Experience with the API cloud messaging and push notifications, as well as with continuous integration, will be a plus.
