Preparation before the interview

Many people, who apply for jobs, are very anxious before the interview. This is completely in vain. After all, an interview is a good opportunity to demonstrate your best qualities to the employer. An interview is a much better form of checking an employee than, for instance, questioning or testing. However, the fear of the interview is common for most candidates. After all, most often it is the unknown that we are afraid of – and what awaits us there behind this terrible door? So, in most cases, a polite and friendly person will be waiting for you there, who will want to know about your ability to do a specific job.

Study information about the company

You need to collect as much information as possible about the company and its business. This will help you:

  • decide if you want to work for such a company.
  • prepare for specific questions you may be asked.
  • impress with the knowledge of the company (which suggests that you are truly interested in the position).

List of required documents

You should take the following documents with you to your interview:

  • passport (some organizations have a pass system);
  • the main document about education – a diploma or certificate;
  • diplomas, certificates, certificates of completing additional training, if this is related to the proposed vacancy;
  • work book (if any) or its photocopy;
  • letters of recommendation. Young professionals should compulsorily collect and store all reviews about their various practices and internships and present them at an interview instead of letters of recommendation.

Make copies of your resume

Make multiple copies of your resume. You never know how many people you will have to talk to, so you should always keep your resume ready if anyone wants to look at it. Prepare the essentials for your interview and put them in your bag. It should be large enough to fit the things you need every day and what you need directly for the meeting with the employer: additional copies of your resume, a notebook, a pen, and so on. Disassemble your bag. If you have to dig through a pile of old candy wrappers, phone chargers, receipts and other junk looking for a resume, you will look disorganized. Everything you need should be neatly folded and instantly accessible. The less you have to look through your bag, the better.

Answers to the most popular questions

In order not to get confused when answering simple questions, you can prepare and think over the answers in advance.

Questions you will come across in every interview:

Tell us a little about yourself.

How would you describe yourself?

Tell us about your last job.

Reason for leaving your previous job.

What do you know about our company?

What attracts you to our company?

Why do you want to work with us?

How does your education or work experience relate to this job?

How can you be useful to our company?

What are your strengths?

What are your main disadvantages?

What type of work do you most like (dislike) doing?

What did you like most and what least in your previous job?

What was your biggest mistake in your previous job?

What are your interests outside of work?

What are your goals in life?

How do you plan to achieve them?

What would you like to change in your past?

What salary are you expecting?

What will you do if … (this is usually followed by a description of any critical situation from your activity)?

Tell a little about yourself

In order to appear in a favorable light before the employer, it is worth preparing a self-presentation in advance.

  • 1. First of all, define the purpose of this presentation.
  • 2. Self-presentation should not last more than 15 minutes. If the employer is willing to listen to you longer, you need to think about what information can be left “in reserve”.
  • 3. Everything you say should be subordinate to your purpose. Therefore, do not talk about things that are not directly related to the future vacancy.
  • 4. To perceive information solely by ear is quite difficult for most people. Therefore, if your profession does not involve a portfolio, take with you some visual evidence of your experience, education, achievements. In addition to diplomas, certificates, written recommendations, these can be photographs or, for example, letters of thanks from clients. In the course of self-presentation, you can show them to the employer.
  • 5. During the presentation, emphasize your personal qualities, which, from the point of view of the employer, are required for successful work in this position.
  • 6. If this company requires an employee with good teamwork skills, then during the presentation, use the pronoun “we” more often and remember your colleagues with a kind word.
  • 7. In the course of the presentation, be sure to try to give information to the employer on all the points discussed above.

We will briefly list them again:

  • professional knowledge, abilities and skills;
  • ability to work;
  • motivation and its adequacy to the vacancy;
  • personal circumstances that allow to work successfully – health, absence of bad habits, living conditions, family;
  • personal qualities and their adequacy to the corporate norms of the company and position;
  • security for the organization;
  • additionally – the ability and desire to acquire new knowledge, abilities and skills.

10. Be sure to emphasize in your presentation what advantages and benefits the company will receive if you become an employee. Remember that any presentation is made only based on the needs of those to whom it is intended.

Prepare for the test task

When preparing for an interview, be prepared to complete the test task. Repeat, if necessary, theoretical material. Practice speaking in front of the mirror, and so on.

Consider your appearance

If you go to a company that has a strict dress code, you need to be conservative. However, if you are going to a start-up interview, being conservative can get in the way: it will raise suspicion from potential colleagues. But, before putting on a suit, you should find out if there is a dress code in the digging. Make sure your suit is perfectly clean, ironed and fits well. This will play into your hands. Try to look your best: When you look your best, you tend to feel more confident.

Plan your route to the office

Consider in advance the route you will take to your interview. Consider traffic jams in the city. Calculate the time required for the trip.

Don’t forget to sleep and have a good mood!

It is very important to leave all worries and anxiety at home, and take only the willingness to calmly answer questions for an interview. After all, your fear in this case is your enemy. When we are worried, we are insecure, scattered, and in this state you can hardly impress yourself.

How to go through an interview successfully?

How often do we have to think about the question — how to find a job of our dreams and, accordingly, pass an interview and become the best among the same job seekers like you. There is a sea of literature on personal growth — the development of one’s own qualities and the transformation of negative personality traits into positive ones; NLP — neurolinguistic programming — the ability to unobtrusively convince during a conversation and get what you want from the interlocutor; and many other sources of knowledge on exactly how to make your way and climb the career ladder higher and higher. It is worth noting that there is no single recipe for success. In different areas, we can hear different success stories. Have Each such story has something in common — as a rule, it is hard work, dedication, non— standard approaches both in work and in communicating with colleagues, positive and constant self— education, work on themselves of these lucky ones who managed to prove to the world that they are on a horse . Let’s talk about the secrets that you may not lose face in more detail.

Telephone conversation with the employer

Take a notebook or piece of paper and write down any important points you might forget during your interview. No matter what kind of interview, it is common for a person to feel fear, and this limits the ability to keep all the important information in the head. So, play it safe and keep your key question sheet in front of you during your phone interview. It is important during such negotiations that there is no unnecessary noise around you — a barking dog, screaming neighbors or a crying child playing the radio or TV, so find a secluded place in your house to prevent this from happening in advance. When the moment comes and the recruiter says you can ask him questions, get ready and calmly go through the prepared list of questions. For some professions, the voice is the only sales tool. In this case, the way your voice sounds influences the recruiter’s experience of you. Make sure you have a cheerful and not tired voice.

Think about your look for the interview

Such a rule is not a secret for anyone — they are greeted by their clothes, escorted by their minds. It should be noted that in conditions of a tense work rhythm, employees who lead a healthy lifestyle are more successful. According to experts, in addition to the smartness of the candidate, future managers and personnel service assess the style of clothing and, in general, the external image of the applicant. Often, managers focus on the external data of administrative personnel (secretaries, personal assistants). For the preventability of these employees, they are sometimes ready to initially offer more interesting working conditions . Therefore, we recommend choosing an image in detail after thinking over exactly what position you are applying for and what kind of person you should appear before a future employer. What is good for a designer or stylist is generally not appropriate for a lawyer or economist. Let’s just say that if your work involves discipline, numbers and rationality, then it would be the right decision to choose a classic look: a light top and dark bottom for women, and a suit — a three-piece for men. E If you are applying for a creative position that requires innovative solutions, ideas and constant search — would be appropriate to choose a shocking, yet stylish way of emphasizing your individuality and courage. But it is worth noting that no mini, trainers, open cleavage and flashy make-up — it immediately cheapens both you and the image of you in the eyes of others. Therefore, if you are in doubt about choosing between classics and style, always choose the first.

Body language and gestures during the interview

Often, the first impression of a person is formed even before he uttered the first word. Therefore, you need to watch what your body says about you. How the hands behave: they pull at the edge of the clothes, hide behind their backs or are busy — they gesticulate. No crossed arms, no shifting from foot to foot. The pose should be confident.

Voice and speech rate

We recommend that you speak measurably, confidently and not loudly. The way you speak has a profound effect on the perception of what you said and even on the perception of yourself, and this happens not only in the first seconds of communication, but throughout the entire conversation. One of the quickest ways to develop a deep, velvety voice is to speak through closed teeth with relaxed lips. Ten minutes of practice a day is enough to see the difference in a week.

Show your interest in the job

The desire and interest in the job often outweighs the other qualities of the candidates. Therefore, during the interview process, it is imperative to show your interest in order to increase your chances of employment. You should not just come on the ad, you should come exactly where you want to work. It is not necessary to have all the information about the company; it is enough to know about the main areas of activity, significant success, the services provided or the products manufactured.

How to talk about yourself?

A good professional biography is based on a conversation in which one person communicates information to another that may be interesting or useful in his own work. The conversation tends to fade when the other person has nothing to grab onto, so it is imperative to avoid these situations. Large— scale and ephemeral ideas may seem exciting and help to demonstrate your remarkable intelligence and ingenuity, but do not forget that your goal is to induce the interlocutor to constantly ask questions. And the best way to do this is to be specific. Talk about your specific achievements and results, replace the subjunctive mood with did, achieved, convinced, committed.

What to say about the previous place of work?

Well, good, when you have something to brag about your past experiences. But what if you would like not to advertise your previous work experience? Previously, when hiring a person for work, they looked at the diploma, and only then the employee was trained in a team in human relations. In the future, the opposite is true. They will look for a man, with whom in the first place as comfortable to work less than the regular person, and only then will train his skills. Anyone can become a professional. However, not everyone can become a pleasant person for you. If there is information that you need to hide, but the question has already been asked, in no case lie, do not hide the facts, remember, only the one who does nothing is not mistaken. It will be strange to start your journey in the company with lies, so sincerity will always help you.

What questions to ask during the interview?

Let’s make a reservation right away that the question of salary and bonuses is appropriate only and only at the end of the interview, when you have already found out the proposed scope of your duties and the set of competencies required to take a vacant position. If you begin your communication with the question of whether, how much you will pay, I think that you have lost, and in 99 percent of you will be denied. After all, in order to ask, competently first sell yourself, which is the secret of a successful interview.

How to make a CV for a job in Belarus

Finding a job is a responsible process, consisting of several stages: writing a resume, having an interview, probation, and getting a job. Today we will get acquainted with the first stage and tell you how to write a good resume to gain attention of employers.

What should be stated on the resume?

All modern companies are looking for a future employee based on a resume on the Internet. So, what should be on a resume to get hired?

Education

Education is an essential point of your resume. It is important to indicate your university, degree and specialization. In most cases, mentioning the courses and training you have taken will help you if the knowledge you have acquired is related to your future work. But it is necessary to indicate any education received, so the employer will be able to create a full portrait of you as a specialist.

Knowledge of foreign languages is a big plus in the resume. Do not overestimate your level of language proficiency, as your knowledge can be tested during an interview. It is better to indicate your real level and back it up with certificates.

Work experience

Work experience is one of the most important parts of a resume. Do not ignore this point in any way. Your first career steps tell little about your current level, so it is better to focus on the latest projects that you worked on. The employer is most interested in the last three years of your work.

If you are a graduate, tell about educational projects, if you radically change your field of professional activity, give a short description of your previous work.

If there are gaps in the experience, be ready to explain reason and tell how you used this time for professional growth. Long gaps between jobs put the employer on guard. Taking care of a small child, starting a business, or working as a freelancer are understandable reasons for interruptions in seniority.

Professional skills

A very important point is professional skills. It is from him that the recruiter learns what you can do, in which programs you can work, and so on. But if you do not know what to write, skip it avoid cliché in your resume. And do not write off from competitors, write about what you can do.

Photo

Many people mistakenly think this is an unimportant part and skip this point. Remember that good photography can make a resume stand out and is also a great way to be remembered. But it works in the opposite direction too: a bad photo can influence on your resume the way you have not expected.

Look for a frame where the face is clearly visible and you calmly look into the camera. If there is no suitable photo, ask someone to take a photo. Best of all – on a light solid background. If you wear glasses, choose a shot where they don’t glare.

Vacation photos, weddings, selfies and other non-business photos are better not to use. If you want your employer to rate you highly, act like a highly paid professional with an appropriate photo.

Contact information

Leave correct phone numbers and email addresses. The latter are best made up of a combination of your first and last name. Make sure that you have written your contact information in the cover letter too.

Links to your pages in social networks can be mentioned only if they can demonstrate your professional skills: for example, when the work is related to maintaining social networks, Internet promotion etc. The recruiter doesn’t need to see your fishing, bar, and vacation photos.

Additional information

Additionally, we can say about the absence of bad habits, especially if there is such a requirement in the job description or the job implies concentration.

Additional information should give an impetus to take you to work – focus on the advantages of working with you and always use the rule: indicate only the information necessary for the desired vacancy, in addition to the standard one.

Letters of recommendation and certificates

It is a good idea to ask your boss from the previous work for a letter of recommendation. What is it? A letter of recommendation is an employer’s review of you as a specialist and a colleague. At first glance, a future employer cannot always determine which specialist is in front of him, but after a letter of recommendation, he can look at you in another way. A letter of recommendation can be written not only by the director, but also by another employee who is competent in matters of your qualifications.

Portfolio

The goal of the portfolio and its content: photos, publications, video and audio fragments to show the employer what you are capable of. This is an optional item in most professions, but you shouldn’t neglect it. If you get a job as a designer, graphic editor or copywriter, it is must-have. It is enough to attach a few links to the websites where your work is published.

Motivation letter

A motivation letter is a small essay on the topic “Why I want to get this job and why I am the ideal candidate”, which is sent along with the package of documents for the dream job. A motivation letter can be from 1 to 2 sheets of A4 format. It is not only an important part of the selection of candidates, but further questions in an interview will be asked according to you motivation letter.

Cover letter

Cover letter – an explanatory letter to the resume to be sent to the company. This is an important document for the first stage in the selection of candidates for a resume. It is a quick introduction to why you deserve this position. Think of the structure of the cover letter yourself: if this is a creative job, then humor and creativity will be welcomed; if it is an office job, then it is better to write a letter in a formal business style. This is an optional step, but it greatly increases the chances of getting the desired position, as it shows your ambition.

CV volume

When reviewing a resume, a recruiter spends less than 30 seconds on each resume, so it’s important to include the most relevant information. The resume should be neat and beautiful. The optimal volume will be 1-2 pages of relevant information.

Applications and services for creating a resume

Easelly is the perfect resume resource. You are given the opportunity to use ready–made templates or create a resume from scratch. You can use individual elements and change them to your liking.

Staff rental (outstaffing): Advantages and benefits

In the modern world, belonging to one or another profession is increasingly becoming the determining criterion of well-being for people. Often employers hire “headhunters” in order to attract the best specialists to their ranks, and on the other side, there is an even more fierce struggle – for a better place “under the sun” in the form of a promising company with a good social package, the opportunity career growth and other bonuses for employees. It’s no secret that the labor market is becoming more and more innovative every year, and along with the arrival of various applications, social networks for finding employees (for example, LinkedIn), a new way of interaction at the company and employee level has appeared, which is called outstaffing.

What is an “outstaffing”?

Outstaffing is a peculiar way of removing personnel from the organization’s staff. In outstaffing, an employee enters into an employment contract not with a company that is actually an employer, but with an intermediary organization, the so-called out staffer. In this case, the process of renting a specialist working in a contractor company to perform a specific task with a customer is carried out. The specialist is part of the client’s team along with other team members; his work is regulated by the management. In this case, the client pays the company to the contractor for outstaffing services under the contract, and the contractor, in turn, pays the salary to the specialist.

Difference between «outstaffing» and «outsourcing»

Outsourcing is the transfer of entrepreneurial functions, responsibilities and business processes to another company working in this area on the basis of an agreement. This service improves the efficiency of the enterprise and allows you to use the released resources to develop new directions. Outstaffing implies the provision of personnel with the necessary qualifications on a temporary or permanent basis. When outsourcing, any work or services are performed completely with a guaranteed required result and process control.

Types of outstaffing services

The variety of types of outsourcing services is determined by the number of areas of activity in which customers need to use the services of hired personnel. Most often, customers involve specialists in working specialties: builders, drivers, loaders, salesmen, cashiers, plumbers, electricians and storekeepers. Less often, customers need narrowly focused specialists with deep knowledge, such as the chief project engineer, the chief project architect – if it is necessary to build one object, after the commissioning of which there is no need for the services of professionals of this level. The outstaffing service is used when they perform complex intellectual tasks (IT services, analytics, software development and implementation, block chain technologies, Big Data analytics), in the legal or accounting sphere.

Advantages of outfitting

It is no coincidence that such a service appeared on the labor market, since it has a huge number of advantages. Namely, if a company uses outstaffing, then it gets rid of problems with labor disputes. When an employee enters into an employment contract with an out staffer company, and not with a customer, this excludes the customer’s participation in labor disputes that concern this employee, and liability for violation of the law to him. Further, personnel management processes and personnel production are greatly simplified. Holidays and sick leave are issued by the out staffer company. As a result, this reduces the burden on the client’s accounting department and eliminates the need to provide separate social guarantees. The out staffer also maintains personnel records, administers business trips, prepares advance reports, and provides the necessary certificates to employees. This is a definite plus especially in startups. Simplification of financial issues. Out staffer carries out the calculation, calculation and payment of salaries and all compensation. Handles taxes and various levies, such as pension fund and social security contributions; optimizes taxation, forms the customer’s tax credit.

Disadvantages of outstaffing

The advantages of outstaffing for the company are obvious, but this service also has a number of disadvantages. Financial losses due to cooperation with an unscrupulous agency. You should never forget about the presence of scammers or simply unscrupulous performers. This can be avoided if the customer selects a reliable contractor who is legally entitled to provide such services. Outstaffing can reduce the rate at which vacancies are filled. Not all new hires are ready to work out staff. This can slow down the employment of new employees in the company. Candidates with potential may go to competitors, and the rate of filling a vacancy may decrease.

Outstaffing service cost

The cost of the service is calculated on the basis of several factors: the term of the service, the number of personnel and the level of salary provided by the employees, as well as the type of outstaffing. In case the provision of outstaffing services involves work without recruiting personnel by the company, the cost of services will vary from 10 to 20% … If it is necessary to withdraw a large number of people from the staff, then the intermediary firm provides significant discounts.

Outstaffing service regulations

The legislation of the Republic of Belarus lacks the concept of «outstaffing», and therefore there is no legal regulation of it either. However, there is an opinion that, despite the fact that the outstaffing agreement is not regulated in the legislation, its application is possible in accordance with cl. 1 part of the second paragraph 1 of Art. 7 Civil Code. According to this provision, civil rights and obligations arise from contracts and other transactions provided for by law, as well as from contracts and other transactions, although not provided for by law, but not contradicting it. By its nature, outstaffing involves the transfer not of functions, but of specific employees. At the same time, such workers are registered for work in a third-party organization, but in fact they work in the same place and perform the same functions. From the point of view of civil law, an outstaffing agreement is a service agreement. In this regard, it should be regulated by the provisions of Ch. 39 Civil Code. According to paragraph 1 of Art. 733 of the Civil Code under a contract for the provision of services for a fee, one party (the executor) undertakes, on the instructions of the other party (the customer), to provide services (perform certain actions or carry out certain activities), and the customer undertakes to pay for these services. The content of the outstaffing agreement specifies the services that the contractor must provide by the efforts of his employee. It is also permissible to indicate the surname, name, patronymic of the employee, by whose forces the services will be provided. This requirement is confirmed by the provisions of Art. 734 of the Civil Code, according to which, unless otherwise provided by the contract for the provision of services for a fee, the contractor is obliged to provide services personally. Taking into account the foregoing, the possibility and necessity of concluding a contract for the provision of services for a fee should be assessed directly by the parties to the contract – the customer and the employee.

Documentation of the outstaffing

If you need to move staff out of the state, you should take into account the many nuances that contribute to the correct execution of documents. Namely, it is important to draw up primary documentation related to the performance of services by an employee. We should focus on drawing up contracts between the customer and the out staffer (intermediary) company. Always make sure that the contracts reflect the real services and work performed by the employee. Do not forget to correctly draw up the internal documents of the counterparty. If necessary, explain to the permanent staff the specifics of the outstaffing process. Do not forget that the human factor very often affects the productivity and quality of work, so it is important to take this nuance into account when communicating with staff.
